Melvin Sharty is a human rights activist, peacebuilder and violence against women advocate. He currently provides technical Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) and quality assurance support to Network Movement for Democracy and Human Rights (NMDHR); a national NonGovernmental Organization operating within four regions in Sierra Leone. Melvin enjoys designing advocacy content/curriculum around human rights mitigation, domestic violence, and conflict resolution. He manages a social justice project funded by Open Society Foundation empowering communities affected by the impact of political transitions and groups in conflict with the law.

Ensuring an appropriate monitoring and evaluation (M and E) system is in place and is functioning satisfactorily.
Developing social media and communication strategy around VAW activities
v Develops monthly community outreach plan according to key project deliverables
v Ensures affective monitoring and evaluation tools are in place and working satisfactorily
v Writes project evaluation reports
v Forms and maintains strategic community partnerships with project partners/beneficiaries in Freetown and Kailahun town.
v Train local community groups on effective dialogue, listening and learning methodology, non-violence confrontations
v Facilitates 24 trainings for project local partners and beneficiaries (women and girls) in project locations
